Welcome to KRISHNA
Krishna hostel is one of the oldest hostels which has got a history of more than 50 years in IIT Madras. It is named based on the principal rivers of India resulting in an epigram about IIT Madras that it is the only place where the rivers remain still. The first foundation step was laid in 1959 and the construction was completed in 1961 (approximate Year). Ambience, affection bond among the inmates, staff are the virtues and strengths of Krishna. In Short, Krishna hostel is " A home away from home"
Krishna, being a Post Graduate / Research Scholar hostel, has a different flavor from other hostels. We have a fusion of all cultures/states, which is reflected in the various cultural groups we have and the events we celebrate. From Onam to Ganesh Chaturthi, from Holi to Diwali, we pride in our cultural harmony. Not only do the students excel in academics and research but also have unparalleled zeal in cultural activities.
