Sharavati - the place to be !

With the Central Library right across, and with the Vindhya Mess, Tifanys and CCD around it, what more could a hosteller ask for? A stone's throw away from most landmarks and the closest hostel to all departments, Sharav is indeed at an ideal location in our insti. Named after the river Sharavati, which forms the famous Jog Falls, it has been a part of the IIT-M landscape since late 2001 and was funded exclusively by the Deshpandes - an alumni couple.

Home to girls across the board, its 360 odd rooms boast of inhabitants from the B.Tech, Dual Degree, MA, M.Sc., MBA and PhD programs alike. With such a large diversity in population, life in Sharav is certainly unique. Sharav is known for its cleanliness and ambience, with manicured lawns and its own little pebble garden, and stands apart from the other hostels with its hexagonal layout. With its warmth and congenial spirit, it truly is home to those within.
